Our Home

As I have promised some times earlier here are the pictures of our new home. It is a bit bare as we only have been living in it for 1 month but still is it progressing slowly.I think we are still adjusting ourselves to living in a house rather than a flat which is 4 times smaller. We also have garden that we just adore we have already worked a lot in it to bring up to this state as the previous owners did not really care for it. For now we just cleaned it mainly and only in the autumn we will be doing some real gardening and planting. I just cannot wait to have my own little garden of herbs and vegetables outside. We also have a new visitor who I mean to introduce in the next some posts. It’s a cat a sweet little gray cat. I actually thought I would never like cats but she grew on us in the past month and we love having her around. I will be sewing a little pillow for her a comfy patchwork pillow and will put it on the porch where she loves to sit and look inside. I kind of think of her as a new addition to our family.
Now I must fly as I am full in autumn angel production mode, so it's time for hours of sewing and neglecting housework, watching my favorite autumn movies, orange lime lemonade, and afternoons of sewing. Anyway I just love it!!!

My Nordic Dream House

Dear Darlings!

Have I got news for you? I know I was not actively posting in the last some months but after our big let down I told you about before. We have found our house which we looking forward turning into a dream home. We put in an offer on it 5 minutes after we saw it ( We fell in love with it.) which was accepted and the buying procedure is almost over with some small things missing.Yet we are still in the endless red tape. Cannot wait for it to be over.If all goes well knock on wood we will be moving in  in the beginning of August. Such a delight, we have been waiting for this for many years and now all that hard work will be payed off . I will be posting pictures after we have it sorry for keeping you curious but I don't want to blow it!!!Learned from the before time. All I can say that it is very unusual and never seen anything like it in Hungary before. It is blue and built in Nordic style as all parts were brought here from Sweden. I hope that made you curious enough.
Anyway we are started planing furniture and small bits and pieces. I will also have a crafts room finally!!!Cannot wait for that!!We have a zillion things to do before we can move and when we move there. it also comes with a garden with fruit trees and vegetable garden. I cannot wait to make my hands dirty there. I will grow all the herbs I like the most. i look forward to pick my own home grown basil for my homemade organic pesto...yummmmmy.

Late Arrival

Back after a long break feeling positive despite all our plans fell through.I was completely devastated after deciding not to go ahead with the purchase but that was best decision for us to make in the circumstances. So as Angie would say with that whimsy smile on her face back to no house, no car, no kid.I laugh at it myself but it really put me down in the last some weeks.Never mind have to stay positive something good must happen now really….Will see.

Our Home

Some time before I wrote about that we have been looking for a house. We think we have found the right one but we are still in the procedure. As the house needs a lot of work to be done we are trying to get as much information as possible before putting in an offer. I kind of do not dare to be happy but feel really confused and frustrated at this moment. I think it won't get better until at least the offer process is over.

It took us months to find it because we were very fussy and picky, we have met the worst agents (I don't know how it is in other countries but in Hungary agents aren't that really reliable or listening to what you actually want, or ours weren't). My biggest fear is that was nothing compared to what is ahead of us. It will take ages to sort out all the bureaucratic and logistic problems, builders and all the rest......at the moment it is more like a nightmare than a dream....to make a house a home.

The house is we found is near Pest  (25 minutes) with perfect commute options. If we get through all the procedures of buying we will still have an enormous work a head of us which will take months. I am planning to write about this later incase the whole thing falls through. We also have to be planning everything ahead find things for our selves as we are on a tight budget.

We are also planning to do quite a lot of things together with my family and friends to save on the costs. I love blogs that feature interiors and makeovers. Love to see and try the projects although upto now I only did smaller projects. I know this mightn’t be a lot but still I am looking forward sharing all I will learn going through the experience. Hopefully this might be helpful for someone else in the same shoe.

Well, dear (blog) friends, now that I finally shared with you this very important news for us, I just want to wish you a lovely week and ask you to please, please cross your fingers for us. I will be back with some more news really shortly.

House Hunt

We have been at it for almost two weeks now but we are still unlucky, we haven’t found what we were looking for.Sometimes I feel frustrated and disappointed a little, I even feel like giving up here and there for a minute. We are having a hard time finding the right house because we have so many factors to consider. First is that we are on a budget. We are also considering the number of rooms, we want a house with four rooms since we don’t want to share rooms. Last but definitely not the least is the location of the house. This one is the most important of all. This is the reason why we are moving out anyway, we are currently living in a  flat situated inside the city, in the 3rd district. This used to be such a nice area (except the  huge apartment blocks) . It changed a lot since we moved away and is getting worse. So now we are looking for  a home  outside the city  but not very far form the capital as we don't want to add too much to our daily commute .
Hopefully we will find one very soon. I want to transfer as soon as possible, but definitely before Christmas.Hopefully we will make some progress in the autumn.

I try to look at things in a positive way and started gathering ideas from different websites and magazines. The other day I came across a site called Hocked on Houses. Julia who is owning the site has been writing about houses in  films and series. She also have a neat comments on different styles. She has covered all my favorite film houses like Practical Magic, You've got mail, Twilight, The Proposal, Sex and the City and many-many more. She also has some celebrity houses listed. I love looking at them for inspiration.

They are all such delight and i love to look for the small details.I know our house wont be this lavish but still some affordable luxury can always be added to it.I have to say my favorite house till now has to be the one form the movie Practical Magic. With the setting  and the windings stairs and that conservatory. Not to mention the kitchen. If I could have anything like that I would be cooking every nigh just to be in it.Wouldn't you? I just cannot stop adoring it. I am definitely watching that move tonight.:O))

Snapshot of My Life Now

Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life - well, valuable, but small - and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void.
